San Francisco PUA

The San Francisco PUA scene has been around almost as long as there has been game. This guide will help beginners and advanced guys alike to know the best venues, day game routes, date spots and the San Francisco lair. 

 Understand: San Francisco has a reputation. The women are not exactly styling themselves like they are set for the red carpet, but you can find them. San Francisco girls tend to me more educated and if you’re into alternative scenes this city may be your haven. There is also a liberal attitude within the city, so meeting people is easier here than other places.

Beginner tips: If you are an SF PUA looking to get his feet wet you have to practice a little differently than in most cities. San Francisco has a lot of smaller venues and few big clubs, so you’ll probably be bouncing from bar to bar throughout the night. Many younger girls go out in the Marina where it’s a raucous and chaotic crowd. It’s often described as “fratty.” The good news is that you can basically walk into any bar at any hour and find sets to open. It’s just a matter of hooking one.

You can also head more toward downtown and hit up bigger lounges or clubs. Bubble Lounge is dying out, but if you’re into Asian girls it’s worth a look during an on-night. Another classic spot is the Redwood Room in the Clift Hotel. It’s small, moderately loud (but loud for SF) and leans toward an older crowd. Also be aware of the odd “pro” who is working. (Pro = prostitute. Thus is life.) Slide is a speakeasy that acts as a club and has bottle service. Ruby Skye is loud, young and crazy, but most practice venues are.

Day Game is quite popular in SF. If you’re looking to get a lot of sets in and to practice, Union Square is by far the best place to be. You’ve got high-end shopping nearby (meaning high-end girls), but you’ve also got the mall where you can meet girls who aren’t lost in the throngs of people. It’s simply the highest volume. If you’re in the Bay Area, like San Jose, take the Cal-Train in and it will drop you off right at the edge of the action. You can also take the BART from UC Berkeley or Oakland.

Another spot to check out is the Marina on weekends or the Fort Mason Center during Off-The-Grid on Fridays, which can also be a good date spot. Avoid the Haight; it’s mostly tourists and vagabonds.

Advanced night and date tips: Know what kinds of girls you’re into. It will dictate what part of town you hit up. For better or worse, San Francisco venues are highly accessible. (Anybody can get in, so you get access to the good but also to the bad.) If you hit the Marina you’ll find good looking girls in Matrix and the Brixton. Hayes Valley has a lot of young professionals, and if you’re out with friends the Mission is loaded with young girls (but they do come in all shapes and sizes).

Network with the party crowd and talk with people. Unlike other cities, a San Francisco PUA doesn’t have a plethora of promoters to try win over; however, the city does have some great afterparties where you meet party girls, Russian models and the hip crowd who aren’t hipsters. The San Francisco PUA lair may have somebody who is connected.
